¡Hola! I'm Mila Fernández
CEO, Founder, and the heart behind the Dublin Institute of Spanish.
They say teaching is an art, but after years in the classroom, I believe it’s about connection.
I didn’t start Dispanish to be just another language school with dusty textbooks. I started it because I saw too many students in Dublin frustrated by grammar that didn’t stick and exams that felt like a mountain.
With a background in Educational Psychology and a Master’s in Teaching Spanish, I don’t just look at verbs; I look at how your brain learns. Whether you’re a Leaving Cert student aiming for that H1 or a professional trying to close a deal in Madrid, my mission is to make the language feel like yours.
The Gold Standard
I am an Official DELE Examiner (A1-C2) certified by Instituto Cervantes. I don’t just teach the exam; I know exactly what the examiners are looking for.
Academic Rigour:
I hold a BA (Hons) in Educational Psychology and a University Master’s Degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language.
100% Native Expertise:
Born and raised in Spain, I bring the authentic rhythm, accent, and cultural nuances of the language to every lesson.
Garda Vetted & Teen-Approved
With extensive experience in teenage education, I know how to transform "school-subject boredom" into genuine interest and exam-day confidence.
Serious learning, Zero Boredom
I believe in small circles and big conversations. At Dispanish, we’ve ditched the ‘one-size-fits-all’ model. My team and I focus on dynamic immersion: we experiment, we laugh, we make mistakes, and we fix them in real-time.
Based in the heart of Dublin 15 but connected to the world online, I’m here to ensure that when you step into my world, you’re not just learning a language—you’re opening a door to a new version of yourself.

Professional & passionate in the teaching of her Spanish language & Incredibly affordable. My son is attending regarding Leaving Cert Honours level and loves it. My only criticism is that her classes tend to run over the allotted time 😊 which re-enforces how incredibly genuine and caring Mila is. We couldn’t recommend her enough.Posted on iseult cumminsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend the Institute, Mila is a lovely teacher. I was nervous but she made me feel really relaxed. We covered a lot of material and it has motivated me to learn more myself. She tailored the classes to what I needed which was fantastic, I learned so much. Thank you Mila!Posted on Mary ConneelyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mila is a great teacher and her classes will definitely improve your Spanish!Posted on Siobhan RocheTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have been a student at the Dublin Institute of Spanish for the past three years. During that time, I have had excellent tuition from Mila. She prepares her lessons thoroughly and tailors them to your ability. She sets homework assignments and corrects them with you. I asked that a portion of my class would be devoted to conversation and we start each class now with a chat. Mila also provides a free conversation session on Zoom for pupils of the same level. I find the session really helpful. Recently, Mila prepared me for the B1 DELE exam. I passed it with her excellent guidance. I would highly recommend classes with the Dublin Institute of Spanish. Excellent teaching skills with clear and concise explanation for the student, no matter if the question is too big or small. Each session is met with a warm welcome and smile. Mila is also very accommodating with session times during my work schedules and I wish her the very best in the upcoming classes.Posted on pietro tedoneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have been having lessons with Mila for over two years now and I highly recommend her . Her lessons are very well organised on zoom and she has access to a wide range of resources which are incorporated into the lessons so that they are varied, interesting and practical. Mila goes over and beyond in and out of the lessons especially when I was preparing for the Dele B1 exam . Her help with the exam, particularly for the writing and oral sections were invaluable. Mila is very personable and down to earth and as such my Spanish conversation skills have vastly improved in a relaxed lesson environment. Mila always follows up the lesson with a summary of what I learned so that I can refer back to it as and when required. Again , I have no hesitation in recommending Mila for Spanish lessonsPosted on Desmond HickleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. An absolutely amazing couple of weeks spent learning Spanish. I needed to learn quite a large amount of Spanish before my leaving cert exam and was expecting to have to drop down to ordinary level, however thanks to Mila’s help I was able to get a rather good grade in higher which helped me to obtain my 500 points. Thank you so much. I suggest Mila 100%Posted on Iwona ZaleskaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
